Jesus tells us that in order to have our names registered in heaven, and be a part of something bigger than ourselves for the rest of Eternity, we
have to make a choice. The choice we have to make is simple. We have to choose God's plan for our life. God's
plan for our life is bigger and better than the plan we have for ourselves, and it lasts beyond this life.
What is so wonderful about this plan is that Jesus makes it really easy for us. He'll take anyone, no matter how
rich or poor, sick or healthy, good or bad they've been. He'll even take the wise and the foolish. The only thing
that God looks for, is someone who is willing to allow him to be the ruler of their heart and life. That is why everyone is
welcome! If we are willing to do things His way, He can change anyone to be truly great for Him!
How to Begin Living for Eternity right here and right now:
Step
1) You must give your burdens to Jesus and allow him to teach you how to live a life with purpose
that pleases God.
Matthew 11:28-30 Then
Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon
you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy
to bear, and the burden I give you is light."
That is a promise no one else
can offer us! Jesus promises to take your burdens from you and to teach you how to live a life that is
much easier and at the same time eternally rewarding!
STOP AND THINK ABOUT THIS!
NO ONE HAS
EVER PROMISED THIS TO US!
The next thing we must do is found
in step 2:
Step
2) You must confess allegiance to Jesus as Lord, and believe that he has died for your sins and resurrected
from the dead.
Romans 10:9-11 "If
you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you
will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with
your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, 'Anyone who trusts in him will never be
disgraced.'"
It
is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God. It is that simple, believing in Jesus, and confessing him
as your Lord that you can begin LIVING FOR ETERNITY.
The Final thing you must do is found in Step 3:
Step
3) You must put God first in your life and live righteously.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33 that we must, "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,
and he will give you everything you need." Jesus tells us by putting God first in our life above all
else, and living righteously, that He will give us everything we need. Notice, it doesn't say "everything we want",
but "everything we need." It is by yeilding our lives to God's plan that we can truly begin Living for Eternity
today!
