Prepare for Eternity

In the days when eastern Emperors were crowned at Constantinople, it is said to have been a custom to set before the Emperor a certain number of marble slabs, one of which he was to choose to be his tombstone.

It was considered good for him to remember his funeral at his coronation. They believed that Life is time, and the purpose of time is to prepare for eternity.

Wouldn't you agree that this is something that all of us should do? We should all begin preparing for eternity?

Anaxagoras (Greek Philosopher)

Anaxagoras was once asked why he thought he was born. He profoundly answered, "So that I may meditate upon heaven." Thousands of years later this same desire is still within the hearts of every single person upon planet earth.

In the days of the deep thinking Greek Philosophers they did not have all of the distractions that we face today in the modern world. Therefore, they were able to ponder such deep concepts on a more regular basis. However, it is no different for us today.

Think about this for a moment. Life is way too short and Eternity is far too long for us not to make sure we are living for the right thing.
